specification. With Yorkshire in our blood we're accustomed to the many moods of the Yorkshire Dales, wild, windswept, bitter and at times tranquil. It's stone-built villages sit among traditional farming landscapes of field barns, dry stone walls and flower-rich meadows. The damaged was extensive, the work was steep and heavy, but the view were glorious!!
Natural England estimate that farmers loose over £50 million as a consequence of rabbit damage, including destabilizing the foundations of many dry stone walls. The combination of the unsettled foundations, steep ground and pounding Dales winter weather conditions had caused sections of this long wall to collapse. We were brought the a picturesque hamlet of Caldbergh with the job of repairing several large gaps to a lengthy wall perched in the contours of the hillside. Installing a small smoot opening at the bottom of the wall aims to allow rabbits to pass through rather than burrow and destabilize the wall.
